'Married to Medicine' Star Dr. Jackie Walters Slammed For Infertility Reveal
Dr. Jackie Walters just made an enormous social faux-pas, and Married to Medicine fans aren’t letting her off easy. During a book cover reveal party for her latest work, The Queen V: Everything You Need to Know About Sex, Intimacy, and Down There Health Care, Walters shared some very private information with the crowd. Unfortunately, it wasn’t her information to share.
In a very thoughtless move, Walters decided to claim that her co-star, Buffie Purselle, is infertile. Needless to say, it did not go over well with her co-stars and fans. Here’s what went down.

While discussing her latest book during a cover reveal party, Dr. Jackie Walters began to delve into personal matters. She mentioned her battle with breast cancer, and how her chemotherapy rendered her unable to have children. But she clearly didn’t think her delivery through.
“Fourteen years ago I got breast cancer. Six months of chemo and eight weeks of radiation to find out, the thing we grow up most of us wanting to do, you can’t do. And Buffie, you can relate. You’re infertile,” said Walters to co-star Buffie Purselle.
Walters backpedaled and tried to change the tone of what she said, adding, “I encourage every woman in here to take your pain and make it your purpose.”
However, the damage was done by that point, and Buffie Purselle was seen drying her eyes and holding back tears.

Suffice it to say, the Married to Medicine star was not happy to have been called out that way. Purselle said the experience was painful, to say the least. To make matters worse, some of Purselle’s co-stars seemed to think that was a good opportunity to offer her fertility advice. Not the right time.
“I had really surface level discussions with Jackie about my challenges with fertility. Nothing real deep, so I just don’t understand why she thinks that it’s okay for her to tell my business to a group of strangers,” Purselle explained during a confessional segment.
Purselle also took to Instagram to discuss the moment. In a lengthy caption to a video of what went down, Purselle wrote in part, “This was one of the most humiliating and painful moments in my life. I am proud that I was able to rise above my pain and embarrassment and conduct myself as the lady that my Mother and Grandmother raised me to be.”
“When you first meet someone and they see that you are happily married they ask the inevitable question ‘do you have kids?’ I always answer no. No – period. Then SOME people ask ‘why NOT’ as if my husband and I have done something wrong,” added the Married to Medicine star. “I am then forced to explain my many failed attempts at motherhood. This is the level of discussion that Dr. Walters and I had regarding my CHALLENGES with fertility.”
“And to date, she has NEVER offered me a sincere apology. I don’t want an apology from her anyway because she doesn’t think that she did anything wrong. A mouse has more emotional intelligence. For all of the people saying this is some sort of editing trick – sadly it’s not, it happened, and being forced to relive it on television and social media hasn’t been fun,” she continued.
Fans aren’t happy with Jackie Walters

Fans weren’t too pleased with Dr, Jackie Walters’ behavior either. One fan sounded off to support Purselle, writing, “Madam you handled the incident like the boss you are not withstanding the internal anguish something so crassly said has caused! I’d give you the biggest high five followed by a hug because you’re the winner in this situation.”
Another fan advised Purselle to stay away from Walters, writing, “There are things that are not supposed to be said on the camera. And if Jackie thinks that it’s ok to say what she said, my dear Buffie run as fast you can from that woman.”
“OMG! As a woman that had a journey to even become pregnant and sustain it. I literally cried for you because I can relate. I am so sorry that this happened to you and she was so blatantly rude and malicious.. It also sickens me that she’s a Ob/gyn. The way you stood there and continued to smile took strength, courage and maturity. I am so proud of you for sharing your truth with the world. Blessings to you and husband,” wrote another supportive fan.
