Fans of Money Heist are desperate for an update on the fifth season as the gang are still in the midst of the Bank of Spain robbery and it’s certainly not clear how they plan to escape. Furthermore, the end of season four ended with The Professor (played by Alvaro Morte) held at gunpoint by Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).

It’s no surprise then that fans were sent into a frenzy when the creator of La Casa De Papel posted an update on the new series on his Instagram page.

Alex could be seen sitting in a hammock with his dog under a sign which read “Vancouver Media”.

While he was smiling at the camera, the creator had his laptop and was wearing a T-shirt with “Tokyo” scaled across it.

He captioned the shot: “Writing Paper House 5.

  • Money Heist season 4 ending explained: What happened at the end?

“Maybe someone identifies that shirt I’m wearing the name Tokyo. But it’s not like that.

“Since then every time I see a Tokyo shirt I buy it, but the genuine one, the authentic one she wore on the day of her christening is the second image.”

The second shot posted on Alex’s account showed a grey jumper with the name “Tokyo” printed on the front.

Money Heist’s leading actor Alvaro was quick to like the snaps and commented with a hands up emoji.

Fans were quick to comment on the images with their ideas and hopes for the fifth series.

One shared: “Aaahhh can’t wait for the matriarchy! Please make it happen with Lisbon leading the band!”

Another added: “Please give the series the best ending… and of course Raquel and Sergio’s wedding.”

A third continued: “Finally the wait is going to be over!” as someone else commented: “We need a release date already.”

The Instagram snap was also posted on Reddit and fans began to share tidbits of information on the latest season.

One excitedly revealed: “Apparently, the cast received the script for the first episode (or couple of episodes??) a few days ago… Mark me down as excited and scared.”

The reference to Tokyo in Alex’s snap should come as no surprise to fans who will know that’s how her name was created.

Speaking in Money Heist: The Phenomenon, Alex explained her name was on a T-shirt he would wear.

  • Money Heist season 5 release date: Will there be another series?

When they started talking about names for the characters, both Alex and director Jesus Colmenar suddenly thought it would work well.

It supposedly only took another 15 minutes before they came up with Moscow, Berlin and Denver.

Alex’s post comes not long after Netflix Spain shared a video clip including the Money Heist cast revealing they were heading back on set very soon.

Hopefully fans won’t have too much longer until they get some more teasers about what will take place in season five.
