Myles Stephenson gets blood drained from his lungs as he suffers setback in recovery from snowboarding crash – The Sun

MYLES Stephenson has had 'a bit of a set back' in his recovery after being rushed to hospital because of a snowboarding accident earlier this week.

The 28-year-old's mum took to his Instagram account to update his fans on his well-being and revealed that he's had to have blood drained from his lungs after suffering from concussion, broken ribs and a ruptured spleen.

The Rak-Su singer suffered a nightmare crash while on holiday at El Pas de la Casa, a ski resort in Andorra near the border with France.

His mum Vicky rushed to be at his bedside to make sure he's on the mend after suffering from a list of fatal injuries.

She has since updated fans of Myles' progress via his Instagram story and wrote: "Myles has a bit of a set back today. He has a heamothorax and needed a chest drain.

"He is still thinking of you all and still getting grumpy with his mummy."

Earlier this week the I'm A Celebrity star posted a video from his hospital bed explaining what had happened to him.

He said: "Hey – what up people? I look a bit worse for wear, don't I?

"Basically, I broke a few ribs, I ruptured my spleen and have some internal bleeding.

"That has stopped now, so I'm just chilling here on ICU [intensive care unit] – it's like a five-star ICU – it's amazing.

"Thank you for all your messages, guys. My mum and the rest of my family are getting me through this.

"I'm counting my blessings day in, day out. Always tell your loved ones you love them. Peace."

In an earlier post Myles explained what had happened to him on his holiday – revealing a list of fatal injuries.

He wrote: "Life is precious people! Cherish every single piece of it!

"A few days ago I had a bad boarding accident. I have concussion, 2 broken ribs and a punctured spleen which resulted in internal bleeding.

"I have seen progression in good health and thank god I am doing okay! Thank you to the nurses, doctors and especially my family for treating me like a prince!"

The X Factor star added: "Lessons learnt from this accident is MUM IS ALWAYS RIGHT AND NEVER TRY fight that! Lol.

"That my brothers love me. Step dads still a t***. And the rest of my family thought they could to some covert Rambo mission to get our here!"

Myles hasn't had the best start to 2020 – in January the X Factor star was viciously attacked at Sheesh Restaurant in Essex during a night out.

He was enjoying some drinks with his friends when he was repeatedly punched and elbowed in the head.

The fight erupted "out of nowhere" and it had been said that as many as nine men started on him because of where he was sitting.

One witness said: “It blew up in a couple of seconds. Myles seemed to have sat down with his friends in an area where these other guys seemed to think they had already reserved. Rather than talk about it quietly, they went straight in for a fight.

“A few seconds later Myles had been whacked several times in the face and body and his friends had stepped in to try and help protect him too, but they were massively outnumbered. It was awful to watch and a ridiculous overreaction given what had happened."
