Janette Manrara and Gethin Jones presented Morning Live on Tuesday and welcomed actor Ben Whishaw onto the programme. The star was on the show to promote the new James Bond film No Time To Die, but Janette decided to drop in a question about Strictly Come Dancing. Ben was taken aback by the turn the interview took and gave the presenter a very honest answer.
Ben is well known for playing gadget man Q in the Daniel Craig Bond films and is set to feature in the new release No Time To Die.
Gethin and Janette quizzed the star about the film and how he was feeling ahead of the premiere.
Janette went on to question whether the Bond star will be celebrating after the premiere of the film.
She said: “You may not be looking forward to the premiere, but what about the afterparty?
“I’m one to go to the dance floor at an afterparty. Do you like an afterparty?” she asked.
“I love an afterparty. Yes, I love a party. It’s just the red carpet I don’t really like,” he confessed.
Upon hearing Ben likes to party, Janette was left wondering if the actor had any dance moves up his sleeve.
“Do you watch Strictly Come Dancing? Would you ever do Strictly?” Janette asked.
Ben burst out laughing and put his head in his hands, clearly taken aback by the question.
However, he then confessed: “I do like Strictly Come Dancing. I would never do it because I’m a terrible dancer.
“But, I think it’s the most amazing show. I’ll be tuning in this autumn for sure,” Ben added.
“Amazing, that’s exciting,” Janette remarked.
“Well, you keep the dancing to the afterparty then and you won’t need it, but the very best of luck,” Gethin said.
Earlier on in the interview, Ben commented on Daniel Craig’s time playing Bond coming to an end as No Time To Die will be his last film playing the iconic spy.
Speaking about being a part of such a famous franchise, Ben said: “I sometimes still can’t believe it!”
He went on to praise the cast and crew of No Time To Die: “It’s a lovely group of people.
“Barbara Broccoli especially is this incredible mother figure who you feel really embraced and loved by.
“Although it is massive, I can’t really imagine a bigger thing to be involved in, it feels very intimate.
“It does feel like a family,” Ben explained.
No Time To Die is available in cinemas from Thursday and Morning Live airs weekdays at 9:15 am on BBC One.
