The bombshell coincides with RHONY dropping their season 13 trailer ahead of the season's release later this year.

“They’re all confused why she’s still obsessed with RHONY and would orchestrate her engagement news to come out the same time as the trailer for the show,” a source told Page Six.

Insiders claimed the cast think Bethenny, 50, is "petty" and trying to take away from their efforts to film the show during the pandemic.

“Bethenny is just being her petty self, but she can’t take away the cast’s happiness or how hard they worked this season during the coronavirus pandemic," the source said.

However, an insider close to Bethenny pointed out to the outlet that the Skinnygirl mogul never actually publicly announced the news.

She was spotted wearing a "$1million" ring during a beach trip in Florida with Paul and her daughter Bryn, 10.

The engagement news was then confirmed by People.

Bethenny announced her departure from RHONY in August 2019, saying a the time: "I have decided to leave the Housewives franchise to explore my next chapter."

She added: “It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett."

Her former costar Ramona Singer claimed at the time that Bethenny didn't tell the cast she was leaving and said they were "upset" and "disappointed" at having to find out through the press.

The season 13 teaser for RHONY dropped on Tuesday and features the cast partying topless as well as a race-related confrontation between Ramona and newcomer Eboni Williams.

The current cast is made up of Ramona, Eboni, Luann de Lesseps, Leah McSweeney and Sonja Morgan.

Bethenny's engagement to film producer and real estate developer Paul comes after more than two years of dating.

It was announced after she finalized her divorce to her ex Jason Hoppy  on January 20 following eight years of legal battles.

Bethenny and pharmaceutical executive Jason filed for divorce in 2013 after three years of marriage.

They fought for years over custody of their daughter Bryn and financial matters.

Meanwhile, Bethenny confirmed on Valentine's Day that she and Paul were giving their relationship another try after they briefly split in the fall.

She posted a sexy snap of herself in a low-cut dress with Paul peering behind her, which she captioned: "Behind every woman… (you fill in the blanks here.)

"Happy Valentine’s Day xoxo #Loveyourself."

Bethenny and Paul split back in October last year, after getting together in October 2018.

The couple started dating two months after Bethenny's boyfriend Dennis Shields died in August 2018.

While his caused of death was never confirmed, it's believed that Dennis had a possible overdose.
