Ryan Thomas threatened to pull out of CBB after his girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh's ex Dan Osborne signs up too

Dan Osborne – who is married to EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa – was snapped up by show bosses following his alleged affair with Love Island star Gabby Allen.

With Gabby also lined up as a housemate, producers are expecting fireworks – but Ryan was not keen on the prospect of spending months in a the celeb house with Dan who had a fling with Lucy in 2013.

He went to show bosses and told them it was either him or Dan, but they stood firm and eventually he backed down and agreed to go in, for a huge six figure sum.

A source told The Sun Online: "Ryan Thomas threatened to pull out of the show when he heard Dan Osborne was going in because he used to go out with Lucy Mecklenburgh.

"He was playing hardball and saying it was either Dan or him, but Celebrity Big Brother bosses stood firm and he eventually backed down. Now they're both doing it.

"Ryan hates the fact he'll have to share such a small space with someone from Lucy's past.

"It's awkward and has been a rough start to his experience.

"It'll be interesting to see now how they both react once they meet inside the house.

"At least Ryan's getting a huge wedge of cash. He's a big name, so Channel 5 have paid through the nose."

Dan dated Lucy during his short stint on The Only Way Is Essex in 2013.

He failed to tell her his ex-girlfriend was pregnant with his child when he hooked up with Lucy while on holiday in Marbella.

Lucy later found love with ex-Corrie star Ryan after meeting him while filming for Bear Grylls' Celebrity Island.

Ryan was offered big money to go on CBB after his brother Adam, 29, appeared on I’m A Celebrity and Adam’s twin Scott was on Love Island.

The actor will now continue to follow his reality TV career as he heads to Elstree Studios to spend weeks locked up in the Big Brother house.

At the time his appearance was leaked, a Sun insider said: "Ryan quit Corrie because he wanted to make more money and reality TV is the way to do that.

“His brother Adam was on I’m A Celebrity and his other brother was on Love Island, so he knows exactly how lucrative it can be to get a spot on one of those kind of shows.

“There’s talk of a £500,000 as an appearance fee.”

The Sun Online exclusively revealed 26-year-old Dan has agreed a deal with producers – weeks after the birth of his third child.

Dan was accused of sleeping with Love Island star  Gabby by her ex Marcel Somerville after they were pictured getting close at a bootcamp in Marbella while pregnant Jacqueline was at home.

Their marriage hit the rocks, but in recent weeks Dan has been gradually easing himself back into family life with Jacqueline as he spends time with his newborn.
