Spoilers: Eileen destroyed as Todd disappears forever in Corrie?
Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) has only just got son Todd (Gareth Pierce) back in her life in Coronation Street, but she’s faced with the prospect of having to say goodbye to him forever.
Todd discovers that a body has been found which matches his description, and with his life currently in danger, he implores Eileen to identify said body as his own.
She considers his proposal, and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) offers to accompany her to the mortuary, but she is ultimately unable to go through with it.
Eileen later comes clean to Todd, who is fuming with her.
Eileen is heartbroken, and opens up to Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) — revealing all about Todd being alive, and the current predicament in which he finds himself.
Mary later reveals this information to George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), and he’s horrified to hear the name of gangster Mick Costello.
Knowing how dangerous said gangster is, he decides to help Eileen, and therefore he and Mary plot to plan a fake funeral service for Todd, so that Mick will think the young man has met his demise!
Eileen apologises to Todd again for being unable to go through with his plan, and the young man is understanding.
However, he reveals that he has to disappear forever now, and that she’ll never see him again!
Eileen is utterly devastated, but will she be forced to say goodbye?
