Spoilers: The end for Scott in Corrie gun showdown but will Johnny be jailed?
Scott Emberton’s (Tom Roberts) reign of crime has reached a dramatic end in Coronation Street after an armed hostage situation ended in a stand off with police – but he is determined to take Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) down with him.
With Johnny having gone to the police over their robbery in the past and also the shooting in the Bistro which almost killed policeman Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), a tense Scott was running out of options and he took Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) hostage.
He got on the phone and warned Johnny that if he didn’t come back from the police station then he would kill Jenny.
As Jenny was left petrified, Johnny did as he was told but the police had been alerted and were soon surrounding the Rovers.
Scott contemplated killing Jenny in cold blood to have the final revenge on Johnny but Johnny told his former mate that he knew he wasn’t a killer and this would not do him any favours.
With Jenny shaken and Johnny begging him to see sense, Scott eventually threw the gun to the floor.
But as he headed out to face the police, he told Johnny that he was going to tell them all about his involvement too – he will be going down along with him.
As Scott emerged, he was arrested. But while it’s the end of the line for him – will the same be said for Johnny?
