Strictly Come Dancing produces a live show on Saturdays, in which viewers see all the dances. But the results are filmed soon after and shown to audiences on a Sunday on BBC One. Spoilers regarding the first contestant to be kicked off the 2021 series have been rife on social media, and have caused fuming fans to call for the Sunday show to be cancelled, with the results shown along with the dances on a Saturday.
Frustrated with the result leak, the show has seen a huge backlash on Sunday.
Dave wrote: “Can’t believe they still pretend this show is live, pls #strictly.”
JustRandomThoughts joked: “I’m going to have to sit here now and pretend I don’t know who’s been kicked off #Strictly.”
“Bit sad that, I think, that I already know who is going, thanks to unprofessional idiots on Twitter who say it’s ok to leak because BBC should not pretend it’s not done on one night. Professional journalists don’t do that. They never have done. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing,” Stephanie Smith argued.
DiamondGirl penned: “#strictly I wish they would also stop this s***y Sunday show and pretend to all be surprised with who gets sent home. We all know on a Sat night as it’s leaked every week. I won’t say anymore but I know.”
