The Queen actress Claire Foy had unusual dream job as a child

The actress best known for playing The Queen has revealed she dreamed of working in a supermarket as a youngster.

Claire Foy , famous around the world for playing Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix series The Crown said: “I wanted to work in Tesco’s the supermarket growing up. I wanted to work on the till.

"That was it. I just did not have any big grand ideas for myself.

"To me, if I said to myself ‘I want to be an actor’ it would have been like saying ‘I want to be the Queen’. How dare you would you assume you would want to do something like that.

"If it was over tomorrow I would be alright. would be quite blue and sad. I love all the people I work with but at the same time I would go and get a job to pay the rent.”

Speaking on Swedish chat show Skavlan, Claire also confessed the Queen does speak in an odd way.

She has now relinquished the role to be replaced by Olivia Colman but added: “She has her own language. Even within the royal family she is pretty interesting.

"They are also Germanic that family. Her grandmother was German and so they have odd vowel and consonants.

"They way they speak, especially her, is sort of German but English. All her vowel sounds are strange. I have definitely lost her now, she’s gone.”
