Tipping Point contestant leaves viewers baffled with major history blunder
Tipping Point viewers were perplexed during Monday's instalment of the ITV show as a player made a huge history blunder.
Host Ben Shephard welcomed four contestants to the ITV studio as they battled it out in the hope of winning a cash prize.
A player named Alex left viewers scratching their heads as he suffered a gaffe when answering a question about Henry VIII's wives.
Ben asked: "Henry VIII had how many wives called Anne?"
Alex answered: "Seven", when the answer is in fact two.
Viewers were especially baffled by his answer as Henry VIII had six wives.
One viewer said: "Ben: Henry VIII had how many wives called Anne? Alex: Seven. Wazzock!"
While another wrote: "Henry VIII had how many wives called Anne?? Seven. Seven?," adding the hashtag "thick as mince".
A third added: "Henry VIII had more wives than I thought apparently."
"Plot twist he actually had 22 wives. 7 Annes, 4 Janes, 11 Catherines," joked a fourth.
