Vikings' Katheryn Winnick leaves us all shook with 'ageless' 10-year challenge

Katheryn Winnick may play a Viking on her show Vikings – but fans are wondering if she’s actually a vampire after sharing the results of her recent 10-year challenge.

The famous meme involves sharing pictures of yourself over the space of a decade to show how much you’ve changed.

Or in Kathryn’s case, haven’t changed.

Suffice to say, our version of this meme does not look like this…

‘The immortal queen of the Vikings’ commented one user on Katheryn’s Instagram post.

‘Did she even age?!’ asked another.

The star, who turns 42 on 17 December, captioned the post: ‘Thank you for all the incredible fans who have supported me throughout the years. x’

Katheryn also caused a stir on Instagram this week when she took part in a fan Q&A.

Asked who her favourite person to work with is, she didn’t say her Vikings costar Travis Fimmel, as many assumed she would.

Instead, she chose Oscar-winner Sean Penn as worthy of the honour.

‘Just finished movie with Sean Penn called Flag Day,’ she said. ‘Very excited about that.’

Understandably!

The film in question stars Penna and his daughter Dylan. It is also directed by Penn.

As well as Vikings – in which she has starred as Lagertha for six seasons, Kathryn has acted in films such as Dark Tower and Love & Other Drugs.

But it’s as Lagertha she’s most loved by fans, as illustrated when some sent death threats to director Michael Hirst when it was rumoured the character was going to be killed off.

‘The fans [sent] Michael Hirst death threats if they kill Lagertha, so in the end, we needed to come up with creative ways of still keeping her storyline alive,’ she told Rotten Tomatoes.

Vikings season six continues Wednesday on Amazon Prime and the History Channel.
