What was Andre Leon Talley's net worth?

FORMER Vogue creative director Andre Leon Talley has died aged 73, his representatives have confirmed.

The "indomitable" fashion designer, journalist, and former America’s Next Top Model judge died on Tuesday, January 18, in New York.

What was Andre Leon Talley's net worth?

He was worth an estimated net worth of $2million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The New York Post revealed last year that the pioneering Talley was embroiled in a legal battle to fight eviction from the mansion over a purported $500,000 he owned on rent for the home. Talley had said he didn’t owe anything and that the mansion was his.

A GoFundMe campaign had been launched to support him in the legal fight.

Posting on Instagram, he said: “I’ve experienced many peaks and valleys in my life and remain quite resilient.

“The matter we are dealing with is unfortunate, but will be handled by my very capable legal team at this time.”

When did Andre Leon Talley join Vogue?

Talley’s love for fashion was cultivated at an early age when he discovered Vogue magazine at his local library at the age of nine or 10.

At age 34 he joined Vogue in 1983, being appointed fashion news director under Anna Wintour.

He was promoted to creative director in 1988 and served until 1995.

Talley was instrumental in pushing for more African-American models to appear both in the magazine and on the runway of fashion shows.

Later he would be appointed editor-at-large.

Where else did he work?

He appeared as a judge on America’s Next Top Model between 2010 and 2011.

After this, he edited the magazine Numero Russia.

A larger-than-life character, Talley was famous for his excitable talking style and flamboyant style.

At 6-feet-6 inches tall, he cut an imposing figure wherever he went.
