Gino D’Acampo returned to the This Morning studio on Tuesday after spending 277 days away from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. Although the chef admitted he was pleased to be back, Gino hit out at the ITV presenters when he realised what time he would be preparing his tiramisu dish for Holly and Phillip.

Phillip began: “After nine peaceful months, Gino is back,” and the chef added: “I can hear you from there, how are you?”

“We’re good all the better for seeing you,” Phillip replied and Gino added: “It’s great to be here.

“It was very emotional this morning, I got home about four o’clock in the morning and I had to get up at 6.30am to be here.

“I got very emotional all of a sudden thinking about seeing you guys, I haven’t seen you in ages.”

After welcoming Gino back, Holly and Phillip told viewers what was coming up in the show.

Gino’s segment didn’t feature in the schedule and the TV chef suddenly appeared behind the presenters demanding to know what time he’d be making his dessert.

Cutting off Phillip, the Gordon, Gino and Fred: Go Greek star asked: “What time am I cooking?”

Holly replied: “I don’t even know, and Phillip added: “You’re right at the end of the show.”

“Why am I here at 10 o’clock in the morning?” Gino questioned.

“Because you just missed out so much you couldn’t wait,” Holly remarked.

Gino quipped: “So I’m going to be here for two hours watching the show live.”

“Many people would pay for that,” Phillip remarked and the chef replied: “Would they?”

“You got me here at 10 o’clock and I’m not on till 12 o’clock – make me do something else,” Gino asked.

Holly hit back: “You’re not allowed to winge you’ve not been here for a long time.

“We’ll find something else for you to do if you want,” Phillip said.

The chef replied: “Please otherwise it’s like what am I going to do here for two houses.”
