A British man has fallen 150ft to his death from a clifftop beauty spot in Majorca.

The 56-year-old was discovered at the bottom of the Es Colomer viewpoint which provides stunning views of the Spanish island’s northern coast.

Rescue teams rushed to the base of the cliff after they were called at 3pm on Wednesday.

The man, who has not been identified, lived in the nearby town of Pollensa, around a 15-minute drive from the beauty spot, according to local reports.

The beauty spot is popular with tourists as it provides stunning views of the northeast coast of the Spanish island

A helicopter was dispatched to help rescue teams overcome the difficult terrain

An investigation has been opened into how he fell to his death.

A Civil Guard helicopter was rushed to the scene yesterday to help help rescue teams overcome the difficult terrain.

Police are said to be interviewing at least on witness who saw the Briton standing close to railings at the cliff.

It comes a week after another Briton, 14-year-old Taya O’Loughlin disappeared on Majorca.

It sparked a huge police operation to find her but she was found two days later on Thursday safe and well and was reunited with her expat mother.
