From Covid vaccines to thundersnow, test your knowledge of this week’s news

It’s fair to say it’s been a historic week for the UK after the nation became the first in the world to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for use.

Millions were left thrilled as the Government revealed the jab will be rolled out from Tuesday, with hopes for ‘normality by spring’.

People in England were also celebrating as the country’s second national lockdown came to an end, with thousands hitting pubs and non-essential shops in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Not everyone was impressed with the shifting covid restrictions though, as many live under strict new tier three rules and people in Wales are banned from boozing at the pub.

Of course, the pandemic hasn’t been the only major item on the news agenda over the past seven days.

Some parts of the UK have been hit with ‘thundersnow’, Prince Harry may or may not be launching a new career a Christmas tree salesman and the world’s ‘loneliest elephant’ finally has a new friend.

So, how well have you been keeping up with the news this week? It’s time to test your knowledge with Metro’s weekly quiz.

Before you bring it up – no, we’re not going to ask if a scotch egg counts as a ‘substantial meal’.
