Husband who made desperate appeal for info on his missing wife, 28, arrested over her MURDER – The Sun
A HUSBAND who made a desperate appeal for information on his missing wife has been arrested as a murder investigation gets underway.
Jennifer Rothwell, 28, went missing early Tuesday morning and was last seen leaving her home in Missouri, US, wearing business attire.
Her husband, 28-year-old Beau Rothwell, had posted to Facebook the same day to inform the public that his wife had gone missing.
The heartfelt Facebook post prior to his arrest stated: “Some of you may have heard already, but last night my wife Jennifer went missing.
“I’ve filed a police report and the search is ongoing. Please, if you hear of anything or have any information it would be greatly appreciated.”
But in a startling development on Thursday, Rothwell was arrested in connection with his wife suspected murder.
The St. Louis County Police Department confirmed Jennifer’s missing case has been reclassified to a homicide after investigators searched the couple’s home Wednesday night.
Police said: "Detectives located empty cleaning bottles, wet carpet soaked with bleach, large areas of blood in carpeting and underlying pad.
"DNA from the victim's mother and father was analysed and is consistent with the blood found in the carpet."
Rothwell was also captured on security footage buying bleach, carpet cleaner, and gloves, prior to Jennifer being reported missing.
DNA samples from Jennifer's parents proved the blood found in Rothwell's home was their daughter's.
Jennifer – a chemical engineer and a University of Missouri graduate – has not been in touch with anyone, which her worried family say is unlike her.
Her car, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was found abandoned in a nearby commercial area.
Jennifer’s mom, Robin von Hausen, told KMOV 4: “A coworker texted and said, ‘Hey, how is Jennifer?’ They assumed she just hadn’t come into work because of the weather or whatnot.
“So, it wasn’t until late 6 or so in the evening before we even knew she hadn’t made it to work.”
Robin revealed her daughter’s phone was found in her abandoned car and her purse is unaccounted for.
The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is actively investigating this case.
