ISIS commander films his own death on battlefield as fighters flee

An ISIS commander filmed his own death on the battlefield as militants ran off, leaving him to fight alone.

The terrorist reportedly died alone in agony, after he was shot.

His plight was recorded on his own GoPro strapped to his head and later taken from his dead body by the Kurdish militia, the Syrian Defence Force (SDF).

The clip, uploaded to social media, shows the commander loading his weapon and firing in front of him before apparently being shot.

His camera then jolts towards the ground.

According to the IdLib Post, the incident took place near Dier ez-Zuir, the largest city in the east of Syria.

SDF Facebook page explained that the ISIS fighters appeared in a state of confusion and disobedience as they ignored their leader and left him behind.

The Kurdish forces are on the brink of capturing the last town under ISIS control in the county, the Independent reported on Friday.

The town of Hajin, on the banks of the Euphrates river in eastern Syria, is Isis’s last holdout in the country. After three months of intense fighting, the Kurdish-led SDF)announced it had taken most of the town.

The capture of Hajin would represent a milestone for the SDF, which for the last four years has been the west’s main ally in the fight against ISIS in Syria, the newspaper reports.

With the backing of the US and UK, it has forced ISIS from swathes of the country’s north and east to this small pocket in Deir Ezzor.
