Prince Andrew flies into furious rage at Palace aide prompting brother Prince Charles to demand apology
PRINCE Andrew flew into such a furious rage at a senior Palace aide that Prince Charles asked him to apologise, it was revealed last night.
The Duke of York, 59, became“very cross” in a verbal dispute with a male member of staff.
It was sparked because the Prince demanded something that wasn’t possible, according to the Mail on Sunday.
The argument is the latest scandal to hit the Duke – who is under intense scrutiny over his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
And it comes as The Sun on Sunday revealed Epstein and rape accused movie mogul Harvey Weinstein attended Andrew's daughter Princess Beatrice's 18th birthday ball.
Disgraced billionaire Epstein killed himself aged 66 in jail last month as he faced sex trafficking charges – including children as young as 14.
The Palace row was so intense Prince Charles pleaded with his brother to say sorry – but according to a Palace source there was no apology.
Last night Buckingham Palace confirmed to The Sun on Sunday the dispute had occurred – but insisted the disagreement had been resolved.
A source told the Mail: “It was a verbal dispute. It was a work-related issue.
"The Duke got very cross that what he wanted wasn’t possible.”
The source added: “The Duke explained the situation to the Prince of Wales and left it at that.
"There was no apology because there was nothing to apologise for.
"The Duke maintains a good relationship with the Prince of Wales."
CHARLES 'TOOK ACTION'
A source close to Charles said such an intervention would not be unusual.
They said: "He is the second most senior member of the family and is known to take action when and where is necessary.
“Mostly he is well informed and will intervene where it is appropriate to do so.”
And a friend of Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson added: "The Duke has never assaulted anyone."
Andrew was pictured on his first royal trip overseas yesterday since the Epstein scandal broke when he was arrested in July.
The Prince put on a brave face as he attended a ceremony in Belgium to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bruges in World War Two.
He has spent weeks embroiled in scandal surrounding his friendship with perv financier Epstein.
Buckingham Palace have strenuously denied allegations made by Epstein's alleged sex slave Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
She has claimed she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17 years old.
Those claims – which were thrown out by a US court in 2015 – have also been vehemently denied by Prince Andrew.
Epstein, a former pal of Prince Andrew, flew into the UK the day before Princess Beatrice's lavish Victorian-themed bash at Windsor Castle.
The disgraced tycoon was accompanied to the £400,000 celebration on July 15, 2006 by British ex-lover Ghislaine Maxwell.
Epstein was arrested on child prostitution charges just days later.
Weinstein, 67, went with Georgina Chapman, the Brit designer pal of Beatrice’s mum Sarah Ferguson – who created the party girl’s £10,000 blue taffeta gown.
They wed but she divorced him after dozens of women accused him of sexual abuse in the #MeToo scandal.
He faces trial next year.
